Teacher Tuesdays offers STEAM Resource Fair for educators

Good educators are some of the most valuable assets in our community. For years, Teacher Tuesdays has sought to provided support, encouragement, and connection to these educators. This year, Teacher Tuesdays will kick off its series of engaging workshops and professional development opportunities with a STEAM Resource Fair. The Fair will highlight many community and business organizations offering STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) resources, and provide educators with ways to incorporate these into their classrooms and programs. Past presenters have included:

  • Peoria Symphony
  • Peoria PlayHouse Children's Museum
  • Jump Simulation
  • Society of Women Engineers
  • West Central Area Health Education Centers
  • CAT Technical Information Center and Engineering Library
  • Illinois State University, Center for Math, Science, and Technology (CeMaST)
  • University of Illinois Extension, 4-H
  • Bradley University, Center for STEM Education

The Teacher Tuesday STEAM Resource Fair will be held at ART Inc., 919 NE Jefferson Street, Peoria on Tues, Sept 13 at 5 PM. The event is free and open to the public, and teachers may be eligible to earn ISBE professional development hours by attending. Those interested can register at go.illinois.edu/TeacherTuesdays

Teacher Tuesdays is a networking event designed to foster peer-to-peer support for learning. Building a learning community around Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM) Education for our region. Local partners working together to bring these valuable workshops and resources to our educators include University of Illinois Extension Fulton-Mason-Peoria-Tazewell Unit, Bradley University Center for STEM Education, Caterpillar, Greater Peoria Economic Development Center, and area school districts.
