Shelley Booth is passionate about nutrition education and providing youth and adults with all the community resources available to them. As a SNAP-Education community outreach worker, she enjoyed teaching participants new recipes, meal planning strategies, and budgeting information. Now as the program administrator, she assists multiple counties reach new partnerships and participants to help spread the word about healthy lifestyle changes.

One of Shelley’s greatest thrills is when repeat participants come to her classes and tell her their successes. Her most satisfying moments are when adult participants engage in her class and then tell her how they were able to use the information at home and pass it along to their children and extended family. Whether adults attend one or all classes in a series, if one person makes a small lifestyle change, Shelley feels as if she has succeeded in making the world a healthier place.

One of her favorite classes to each is on Meal Planning. The stress that can be laid to rest when a busy mom gets home and already knows what she has on hand to eat and what is for dinner is something that Shelley uses in her personal life and loves passing on to other busy parents. It makes the kids happy too!

Shelley joined Extension in 2021 and has created many new partnerships to reach new participants. She formerly ran a food pantry and has an abundance of knowledge with regards to local community assistance programs, and loves sharing with all diverse populations in her community.
