Mason Bee Program

Event Date(s)
Location
Mason State Nursery, 17855 N. County Road 2400E, Topeka, Illinois

Due to previous bad weather this event was rescheduled for March 5. Registration is re-opened for new participants. Those who previously registered can simply RSVP to Christine Belless with confirmation or regrets.

University of Illinois Extension Fulton-Mason-Peoria-Tazewell Horticulture Educator Nicole Flowers-Kimmerle will be presenting a program on Mason Bees on Thursday, March 5, 1:30-3:30 p.m., at the Mason State Nursery, 17855 N. County Road 2400E, Topeka, Illinois.

Stress from chemicals and loss of habitat can put pressure on native bee populations.  Learn about this native solitary bee’s life cycle, their role in pollination, and how to best support a population in your own backyard.  Bring an empty “tin” can to create a simple bee hotel.  We will discuss the most effective ways to support the native bee population.

Space is limited, deadline to register to attend February 27.

If you need a reasonable accommodation to participate in any event listed in this news release, contact your local Extension office.
