During the month of February 4-H members in Peoria County are invited to make the 4-H Pledge come alive by creating and donating Birthday Bags. All of the “Birthday Bags”collected will be delivered to local food pantries in Peoria County. Due to the covid-19 situation our local food pantries are busier than ever and items for birthdays such as a cake mix, etc. are generally not the typical food item available at a food pantry so your donation of a ‘Birthday Bag”could make a huge difference for a child’s birthday.
Please drop off all assembled “Birthday Bags” by March 5 at the Peoria Extension office.
Items to include in the bags include:
- ·Box of Cake Mix
- ·Canned Frosting
- ·Birthday Candles
- ·Birthday Card
- ·Small (inexpensive) Gift (Please indicate on the outside of the bag the sex and age of child the gift is for-don’t forget teenagers like birthday gifts too).
