Horseshoe Bottoms Hike - Fulton-Mason-Peoria-Tazewell Unit Master Volunteers

Extension Master Gardeners and Master Naturalists serving the Fulton-Mason-Peoria-Tazewell Unit are invited to attend this guided tour of one of the natural treasures in our unit.

Hikers should gather at the far west end of St Mary's Cemetery in West Peoria, 421 N Sterling.

Liability waiver signatures are required for this hike on both Peoria Park District and Greater Peoria Sanitary District land. Moderate difficulty, with views of both four-year-old created prairie plots and a 10,000-year-old glacial hill prairie under restoration. We will also look at the riparian area along Kickapoo Creek and talk about watershed conservation/public education.
