  • Discover shrubs that thrive in diverse landscapes, produce edible berries or marketable ornamental products, and explore creative ways to use these berries.
  • Learn about native and non-native shrubs, tips for home landscaping, and learn which species are most successfully propagated from cuttings

Presenters:

  • Nick Frillman, Local Food Systems and Small Farms Educator at Illinois Extension will discuss woody perennial shrubs that flourish in diverse landscapes, yield edible berries, and offer creative ways to enjoy those berries in the kitchen.
  • Ryan Pankau, Horticulture Educator at Illinois Extension will share expertise on native and non-native woody shrubs, providing guidance on selecting plants for home landscapes and strategies to promote ecological health along woodlot edges.
