Our "Set the Stage" mini-camps allow youth to explore theatre arts without an expensive commitment. Participants will expand their imaginations and grow as actors, plus build life skills like public speaking and decision-making.
Each day, we will focus on different skills through fun activities.
- Ice breakers
- Tongue-twisters
- Becoming a character
- Reader's Theater
- Using our voice and emotions
- Scene work and improvisation
Ages: 8-12
Dates: June 23, 24, and 25 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. each day
Location: DuPage County Extension Office
Cost to participate: $15 per youth
About the instructor: Katie McFarland has helped direct 15 shows, including "Beauty and the Beast," "Peter Pan," and "High School Musical." She has been teaching music since 2012, including piano, voice, and audition coaching. She also taught theater at a local private school for four years, and she holds a degree in the arts from NYU.
