Illinois Extension to offer free programming in Ogle County

OREGON, Ill. – University of Illinois Extension serving Ogle County will be offering upcoming programs in Rochelle and Oregon. Join Extension educator, Kara Schweitzer, as she leads these free sessions which are open to the public. Register by calling 815-632-3611.

Penning the Past: 10:15-11:15 a.m. Thursday September 14 at Hub City Senior Center, 401 Cherry Avenue, Rochelle. Have you thought about writing your own life story to share with others, or perhaps to leave a legacy? Come and explore ways to preserve your individual and family stories for future generations. No prior writing skills are needed!

Don’t Go It Alone: Improving Your Social Connections: 10 to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday October 11 at Rock River Center, 810 S 10th Street, Oregon. Learn the difference between social isolation and loneliness, identify risk factor for both, and gain strategies for staying connected with others.

Looking for the Funny Side: The Value of Humor: 10 to 11:00 a.m. Monday November 6 at Rock River Center, 810 S 10th Street, Oregon. This program will help you look at ways humor can help when dealing with stress and change, and the benefits of humor will be identified.

Wits Fitness Rochelle: 10:15-11:15 a.m. Thursdays September 28, October 26 and November 30 at Hub City Senior Center, 401 Cherry Avenue, Rochelle. Engage in interactive activities designed to enhance cognitive function and memory with Wits Fitness Brain exercises.
