Hunger affects our friends and neighbors. For hundreds of Quad Citians, a daily meal isn't a choice between different dishes. It's a choice between food and other critical needs like medicine, electricity or childcare.
September 23 is Hunger Action Day. University of Illinois Extension is teaming up with Mercado on 5th to collect donations of canned goods and other non-perishable food donations for the St. Mary's Food Pantry which serves the Floreciente neighborhood.
Bring your donations to Mercado on 5th on Friday Sept 23 and leave them in the collection boxes at the entrances or at the Illinois Extension SNAP-Ed booth inside the event.
By working together, we can help make sure no one goes hungry!
