4G STEM Camp is a favorite summer activity for youth entering 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. This week-long, day camp connects young STEM enthusiasts with people working in STEM careers. Participants will experience hands-on activities that give them a sense of what it would be like to be in these STEM career fields and learn more about themselves. Camp experiences ignite a spark of possibility within the g s and help open their minds to creative and fulfilling careers in central Illinois. The camp is designed around site visits to Peoria area businesses where successful people working in STEM careers will provide an orientation to their work, as well as the skills, technologies, and strategies used to excel in their jobs.
2023 Site locations include:
- Methodist Hospital
- The Nature Conservancy
- University of Illinois Springfield Therkildsen Field Station at Emiquon (rural Lewistown)
- Local trade groups

Teacher Track
Teacher Track participants will attend 4G STEM Camp as learners and observers of how to work with community partners to enhance STEM career exploration. Teachers will also assist with various roles prior to, during and after camp.
Qualifications:
• Have a teaching position working with 6 th , 7th or 8 th grade youth in a STEM related field (preferred)
• Have energy and enthusiasm for implementing a new STEM career exploration project in your school
