Planning for the future of your farm is essential to protecting your family, your land, and your legacy. Understanding how succession works—and the pitfalls to avoid—can make a meaningful difference when transitioning your farm to the next generation.

University of Illinois Extension and the Henry County Farm Bureau are partnering to offer a seminar that helps farm families gain clarity on succession planning and the legal aspects of farm transition. This program will highlight strategies to safeguard your farm’s future and ensure a smooth handoff across generations.

Meagan Dis, Commercial Ag Specialist with University of Illinois Extension, will share practical insights, tips, and resources to support farm families in planning for the future. She will also introduce attorneys who specialize in farm succession planning and who will offer guidance and answer questions.

The program will take place at Cerno's Bar and Grill in Kewanee and includes a complimentary taco bar,. There is no fee to attend, but pre-registration is required (call, email, or sign-up online). Support for this program is provided, in part, by Gold Star FS, River Valley Cooperative, and CHS.
