Illinois Extension offers tips to boost your brainpower

DANVILLE, Ill — Looking to sharpen your mind and boost your brainpower? This double-feature event tackles both cognitive health and nutrition! Illinois Extension's Family Life and Nutrition and Wellness Teams are bringing an exciting double feature to Immanuel Senior Residences, 1415 Eastview Ave., Danville, IL 61832, from 9 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 23rd.

First up at 9 a.m., "Head Strong," with Family Life Educator Emily Harmon, will show you what you can do to keep your brain healthy and engaged. Attendees will learn effective strategies for maintaining cognitive health. "Keeping your brain active is crucial for overall well-being," says Harmon. "This class is designed to provide practical tips and techniques to enhance your cognitive functions."

Following a short break, at 10 a.m., "Eating Right for Cognitive Health" with Nutrition and Wellness Educator Rachel Mannen will begin. This program will guide you on how to eat right for a healthy brain. "What you eat has a significant impact on your brain's health," says Mannen. "By incorporating the right foods into your diet, you can support cognitive function and overall mental clarity."
