Master Naturalists and Master Gardeners invite the public to join them for the educational program during their quarterly volunteer meeting.

Retired Director of the Illinois Museum-Dickson Mounds Dr. Michael Wiant will illustrate the role of plants in human history, and explore the use of plants by Native American societies in Illinois over the past 12,000 years. A combination of methods of study—archaeobotany, ethnobotany, and oral tradition- will illustrate the history of Native American plant use over time and how it changed not only their lives but the lives of human beings worldwide. Join us for social time at 5:30pm and program at 6pm.
