Spring is on full display at the QCCA Flower and Garden Show!

Join us from Friday, March 21 to Sunday, March 23 for a weekend full of inspiration and ideas for your backyard. Discover landscaping techniques, flower inspiration, and a variety of vendors and speakers. The University of Illinois Extension Master Gardeners have created a stunning display garden and will be available at their information booth to answer all your gardening questions. They have also curated a series of horticulture programs featuring Master Gardeners and local experts. All presentations are included with your admission.

Weekend Presentations:

Friday, March 21

  • 12:30 p.m. English Tea Gardens: Presented by Jane Arensdorf, University of Illinois Extension Master Gardener
    Join Jane for an enchanting walk-through various Tea Garden designs.  Explore all the herbs we can grow to develop our own tea. Includes recipes and a tea brewing demonstration.
  • 2:30 p.m. Tree Care: Presented by Terry Bates, City of Moline Arborist 
    So, you want to plant a tree? To ensure that your effort and resources are well spent, join Terry as he discusses Moline’s forestry plan.  He will review the dos and don’ts of tree planting and care. Terry will discuss tree selection, proper planting depth, supplemental watering recommendations, and how to care for newly planted trees.
  • 4:00 p.m.   All You Need to Know about Native Plants- Presented by Cindy Lenger, University of Illinois Extension Master Gardener Join Cindy as you look at small to medium natives and how they can easily be incorporated into your existing home landscape. You will learn how to create a pollinator pocket and how they support so many different species of bees, butterflies, moths, insects, birds, and bats. Lastly, you will explore growing from seed versus buying plants. 

Saturday, March 22

  • 12:00 p.m. Tree Care- Presented by Terry Bates, City of Moline Arborist

  • 1:30 p.m.  “Lil’ Green Thumbs.” Adventures, ideas, and projects to get kids involved in gardening - Presented by Heather Bonsell, University of Illinois Extension Master Gardener    
    Join Heather as you explore projects and ideas will be suitable for kids and gardens of all sizes. Learn more about what both plants and lil’ gardeners need to thrive.

Sunday, March 23rd
