CHAMPAIGN, Ill — The East Central Illinois Master Naturalists are excited to announce the return of their annual Native Tree and Shrub Sale, a highly anticipated event for nature enthusiasts and conservationists alike. This year’s sale offers a unique opportunity for the community to support local ecosystems by planting trees and shrubs native to Illinois. These plants are well-suited to the local climate and soil conditions and play a crucial role in providing habitat for wildlife, enhancing biodiversity, and improving the environment's overall health.
The ordering period for this year's sale will be open through September 20th or until supplies last. With each plant priced at $30, this is an affordable way for residents to contribute to the preservation of Illinois' natural heritage. The plants in this sale have been carefully selected for their adaptability and ecological benefits, making them an excellent choice for anyone looking to enhance their garden or landscape with native species.
Orders can be picked up at the Urbana Park District Planning and Operations Facility at 1011 Kerr Avenue, Urbana, IL 61802. Customers can collect their purchases from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Friday, October 4th, or between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 5th. The East Central Illinois Master Naturalists encourage everyone to participate in this event to beautify their spaces and contribute to nurturing and protecting the region’s natural environment.
