Mercer County 4-H invites youth ages 8 to 15 to participate in a sport fishing club on Saturdays April 23 - May 28, 2022.
The first meeting will be April 23 at Aledo Central Park followed by meetings located at various ponds around the area. Pond locations will be announced at the first meeting. Youth must have their own rides to the ponds each week. The club is open to 10 kids ages 8 to 15.
There will be a $10 bait fee and your cost of your own fishing supplies, plus a $20 program fee for non-4-H members.
Supplies Needed-Please bring to all meetings.
- Rod and reel in good working condition with fresh line;
- Size 4 Aberdeen Eagle Claw hooks;
- Split shot and small bobbers;
- Fingernail clippers or kids Fiskar scissors for cutting line;
- Small needle nose pliers for hook removal;
If you are a bassmaster bring:
- Weedless jigs with trailers
- Plastic worms and spinnerbaits.
*No lure with treble hooks will be used during this class.
