May 14 — Native Plant Alternatives for the Home Landscape
Looking to create landscapes that are both attractive and environmentally beneficial? Explore native plant species that serve as alternatives to commonly used non‑native plants. Learn which species are best adapted to local conditions and how they support sustainable landscaping. Leave with confidence in knowing how to select native plants that enhance beauty while supporting regional biodiversity. For the make-and-take portion, you will use pressed flowers to create a beautiful photo frame you can use to showcase a special memory!

Others in the series include:
June 10 — Landscape Design 101
Learn the basics of creating a beautiful and functional outdoor space. This session introduces foundational design principles, explores common design styles, and helps participants build confidence to begin personalizing their own landscapes.   For the make-and-take portion, you will create a personalized concrete stepping stone for your garden!

July 16 — Drought‑Tolerant Plants
Discover how to design a water‑efficient home landscape without sacrificing beauty. This session covers what makes plants drought-tolerant, recommended species to consider, and practical water‑smart management strategies. Participants will leave with tools to reduce water use while maintaining a healthy, visually appealing landscape.  Make and decorate your own pollinator bath or a ‘bee bath’ for your home garden using terracotta pots and marbles!
