Welcome to the University of Illinois Plant Clinic Blog! We're back from hiatus, and we've moved to a new URL. Our old articles will still be available at the old address: http://universityofillinoisplantclinic.blogspot.com/
I'd like to take a moment to introduce the University of Illinois Plant Clinic. We are the federally designated plant diagnostic laboratory for Illinois. In this role, we cooperate with state and federal agencies including the Illinois Department of Agriculture, the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, and the Illinois Crop Improvement Association. We also cooperate with other diagnostic labs across the country. We are part of the National Plant Diagnostic Network (NPDN) which provides a cohesive, distributed system to quickly detect and identify pests and pathogens of concern.
The mission of the University of Illinois Plant Clinic is to serve as an unbiased resource for diagnostics of routine, unusual, and exotic pests and pathogens. Started in 1976, the Plant Clinic has a long tradition of providing diagnostic and educational support to Illinois residents, and serving as a clearinghouse for plant problems. Our focus is diagnostics, outreach, and training.
