Results of a 17-year study investigating the effects of crop rotation and tillage on yield and returns

The results of a study that was initiated at the Northwestern Illinois Agricultural Research and Demonstration Center nearly 20 years ago (fall 2015) were recently summarized by University of Illinois Agronomist Dr. Emerson Nafziger. This study was designed to compare yields and returns among different cropping sequences (continuous corn, corn-soybean, continuous soybean, corn-soybean-wheat and soybean-corn-wheat) and tillage practices (tilled or no-till).

More detailed results of this study including the effects of cropping sequence and tillage on both corn and soybean yields and per-acre returns (using 2015 grain prices and crop budgets) are available in THIS ONLINE SUMMARY.
