Illinois Extension and 4-H offers at-home educational cooking and activities kits to help youth and teens build their skills in the kitchen. The October kit is designed to get youth pumped for National Pumpkin Month. They will learn all about pumpkins, and how to select, store, and carve them. Try one of the many recipes included in the kit such as pumpkin bread, pie, pancakes, roasted seeds, and pumpkin sandwiches.
Each kit is $5 and includes:
* October "I Made That!" booklet
* Selection, storage, and carving tips
* Pumpkin recipes and exploration
* Select ingredients for your recipes
* Pumpkin activities
* Sensory evaluation
Register by September 26. Kits will be available for pick-up beginning Oct 3 at our Extension offices in Milan, Viola, and Galva, IL.
