March 14, 2024, 12:00 noon -1:00 p.m.: Duane Friend, University of Illinois Extension State Master Naturalist and Climate Change Specialist presents the weather has changed over the last 30-40 years in Illinois and the Midwest. He will discuss what these changes have been, what’s expected in the future, and the effects on ecosystems.
March 21, 2024, 12:00 noon -1:00 p.m.: Nina Struss, River Health & Resiliency Organizer, Prairie Rivers Network - Quad Cities Climate Assessment: Nina will share highlights of the Quad Cities Climate Assessment, the region’s first effort to identify environmental factors that threaten the vulnerable people in Rock Island (IL), Moline (IL), East Moline (IL), Davenport (IA), and Bettendorf (IA). With nature-based solutions and strong local commitment, the plan promises to bolster the Quad Cities’ resilience in the face of climate change.
