In this webinar presented by University of Illinois Extension, speakers will share their stories and practical knowledge about how they got their projects done. Participants will learn how:
- Scott Tess transformed an Urbana landfill into a community solar project that provides local power.
- Ryan Huffer used a power purchase agreement to install solar panels in Decatur's parking lot.
- Dee Tanner and Jim Zeidler utilized direct-pay tax credits to install solar in Steeleville.
Each speaker will share their journey, the benefits of their projects to their communities, and their financing strategies. Additionally, Prairie Rivers Network will provide an overview of incentives and financing opportunities. Monika Vadali from the Great Plains Institute will introduce a community cohort program that helps communities transform their landfills into solar projects.
