Youth Development

Amy Henschen is an Extension Educator with University of Illinois Extension. She provides 4-H program leadership in DuPage, Kane and Kendall counties. She holds a B.S. degree in Communication and Spanish from the University of Dayton and a M.S. degree in Agricultural Extension Education from Colorado State University. Amy grew up in Lake County, Illinois, where she was an active 4-H member. She worked in marketing and public relations before joining the Peace Corps to do community development in Paraguay. Upon returning to the United States in 2013, she began work as a 4-H youth development agent with Colorado State University. She joined the University of Illinois Extension team in 2019.

Amy has experience with program management, outreach, volunteer development, youth robotics, and new audience development. She is a certified facilitator for the eXtension Impact Collaborative and a Click2Science professional development trainer.
