Bobbie Lewis-Sibley, an accomplished leader, has been a transformative force at University of Illinois Extension since joining in October 2011. As the former County Extension Director for Livingston, McLean, and Woodford Counties, she led a team of thirty-two professionals, successfully connecting local communities to the University through innovative programs and resources that drive positive change.
In 2023, Bobbie transitioned to the pivotal role of Extension Outreach Associate for Strategy, Planning, and Implementation. In this capacity, she chairs the Extension Strategic Planning Committee, where she plays a crucial role in aligning the organization’s initiatives with its overarching goals while fostering a culture of strategic thinking. Additionally, she Co-Chairs the Doris Kelley Christopher Illinois Extension Center Grand Opening Committee, ensuring the successful launch of this important new resource.
Bobbie’s impact extends beyond the University. Before her tenure at the University of Illinois, she was a key advocate for change in the educational and non-profit sectors. Her work at Illinois State University and Chestnut Health Systems led to the development of community-driven initiatives addressing critical public health issues, including alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs. Her efforts were instrumental in the enactment of local and state no-smoking laws and pioneering Keg Registration ordinances.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Illinois State University and a Master’s in Business Administration with a specialization in Human Resources from Liberty University. Her designation as a Certified Human Resource Professional by the Society for Human Resource Management underscores her expertise in organizational leadership and human resources.
As a proud member of Epsilon Sigma Phi, an organization of Illinois Extension professionals, Bobbie continues to shape impactful programs that make a lasting difference in communities throughout Illinois.
