On February 21 I celebrated my 35 year anniversary with the University of Illinois Extension in Chicago. During my 35 years with Extension I have had the opportunity to work with and meet some great people. People like Gerald and Lorean Earles who taught a young Extension Educator how to dumpster dive for materials for their Slumbusters community garden.

Abigail Garofalo is our new Environmental and Energy Stewardship educator. Abigail received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Illinois in Urbana –Champaign. Her Bachelor of Science degree is in Natural Resources and Environmental Science with a concentration in Resource Conservations and Restoration Ecology and a Masters' Degree in Agricultural Leadership Education and was a Johnathan Baldwin Turner Fellow.
