IEEE Smart Ag Working Group conducting research

The IEEE Smart Ag Working Group is conducting research to learn about the various impacts caused by the lack of interoperability across agricultural systems & technologies. To that end, we are conducting small focus groups to hear directly from those affected so that we can accurately represent the economic, environmental, and social pain points that are caused by the lack of connectedness across the systems and technologies used through the ag and food supply chain. We invite participation from small and mid-size farmers/producers who are interested in participating in this focus group.

Goal of the focus group: To learn more about the data practices used by small & mid-size farmers regarding data recording, sharing, and utilization practices.

Who is eligible: We are interested in hearing from small and mid-size farmers. We are utilizing the USDA definition of small & mid-size which includes all farms with a gross cash farm income of less than $1M per year.

To register: Please fill out this form or scan the QR code below.

Time and location: The focus group will take place on December 4, Wednesday, 3:00-4:00pm Central Time via Zoom. The zoom link through which you can join the meeting will be sent to you upon registration.

Results communication: In return for your time and information sharing, we will send you the summary of the focus group conversation and the insights we derived. We will also be happy to answer any questions with respect to data management that you might have.

We thank you for your consideration and look forward to your participation!
