Commercial Ag Webinar Series

agriculture

Illinois Extension's Commercial Agriculture team has been working to put together a new webinar series targeted towards those in production agriculture in the state of Illinois. With the uncertainty around the likelihood of face-to-face programming for the summer of 2020, the team wanted to work to ensure that we have a method of relaying useful and impactful information to the agricultural community of Illinois.

The program is called "The Commercial Ag Webinar Series". This webinar series will take place every second and fourth Wednesday of the month at 3 p.m., starting with May 13, 2020. The first four webinars are planned for May and June and include topics and presenters as follows: "Early season insect pests to watch for" from Dr. Nick Seiter (UIUC Extension Field Crops Entomologist), "We'll get through this: Navigating the unknown, together", by Dr. Josie Rulolphi (UIUC Extension Specialist/Assistant Professor), "Hemp crop review and research update" by Phillip Alberti (Commercial Agriculture Extension Educator), and "Nematodes stealing your yield? You'll never know until you sample" from Diane Plewa (UIUC Plant Clinic Director) and myself.

Webinars will be live-streamed using Zoom, a free application you can use on your computer, tablet, or mobile device. Individuals who attend the webinars will have the opportunity to ask the presenters question directly. Recordings of the webinars will be available for viewing after the fact in the event you are interested but unable to attend the live-stream of the webinar itself.

Registrations for the webinars are live. With the first webinar less than one week away, I encourage you to register as soon as possible as seats are limited. If you have any questions or need any help with registration, please reach out to me, Chelsea Harbach, via email (harbach2@illinois.edu) or phone (309-734-1098). Here is a the website URL that has the first four webinars listed for May and June with a brief description for each as well as a link to register for each webinar (go.illinois.edu/CommAgWebinarPR). You must register for each webinar individually, i.e. registering for one webinar does not automatically register you for the entire series. I look forward to "seeing" you at this series!
