Livingston 4-H Volunteer Screening
New Volunteers:
Welcome! Thank you for considering a volunteer role with the 4-H Youth Development Program! To get started, please contact your county’s Program Coordinator using the contact information provided below. We encourage potential volunteers to connect with our Program Coordinators to learn more about the volunteer screening process before applying. Completing the application in a timely manner will help ensure a smooth screening experience.
Application Process and Procedures:
The University of Illinois Extension requires all volunteers to complete and agree to the following:
- An electronic criminal background through Sterling Volunteers
- Registered sex offender check completed by local staff
- A child abuse and neglect tracking system check through the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS)
- Completion of The Abuse and Neglect Child Reporting Act (ANCRA) training
- Code of Conduct, Risk Waiver, Volunteer Agreement, Talent Release
- Three reference checks
- Volunteer screening interview
Re-screening:
Volunteers must be rescreened every three years through the Gateway system. You will be contacted directly for the information needed.
