Patrobas is a lawyer with twelve years of experience in human rights advocacy, particularly in diversity, equity, and inclusion. He was part of the University of Illinois Extension’s Illini Science Policy Program 2022- 2023 Cohort, where he worked in the Office of the Lieutenant Governor, Juliana Stratton, and worked on her “Ag connects all” initiative as well as supporting the Constitutional Councils and committees under those Councils.

He has a Master of Laws degree with a concentration in International and Comparative Law from the College of Law at the University of Illinois Urbana- Champaign and his undergraduate Bachelor of Laws degree from Uganda Christian University.

Patrobas served for ten years as an inaugural Member of Commission in the Equal Opportunities Commission in Uganda, where he supported government ministries, departments, agencies, and local governments to streamline and integrate diversity, equity, and inclusion in their planning, budgets, and programming. He also adjudicated discrimination complaints reported to the Commission, a quasi-judicial institution with powers of court.

While studying for his master's degree, he worked with the Student Money Management Center at the University of Illinois System under the University Bursar's office, providing financial education through writing articles on the blog, social media posts, and a biweekly newsletter. He supported the “Grow Your Green Stuff” webinar series, a partnership between the SMMC, the University of Illinois Extension, and other Federal and State institutions.

Patrobas is passionate about advocacy for underserved and marginalized communities and leadership development. He brings his expertise in Policy management and development, experience in advocacy, community engagement, and financial education to serve as an Extension Educator in the Illinois Nutrition Education Program.
