Welcome back to the Grasses at a Glance Blog!

2025 was a whirlwind year and I decided to take a step back from this blog. If you’re wondering why, I had a baby! I’m already teaching my little girl about plants and who knows, she might grow up to be a grass lady one day too! 

Before moving ahead with new content, I took some time to look back on the three years of blog posts already out there. From species profiles to general plant biology basics, we’ve covered a lot of grass topics in that time.

Last year I did some work on the grasses webpage, so now instead of scrolling back through blogs, you can find identification information organized by grass species. Don’t forget about my short video series too. The videos are a great reference for in the field plant identification. Designed to be under 2 minutes, they take a close up view of key identification features for 25 grass species.  

What’s to come in 2026? 

I’ll be resuming blog posts twice monthly on Mondays. I’m also planning to host a virtual multi-day grass ID workshop at the end of July – stay tuned for more details. If I can manage it, I’m hoping to add another batch of short identification videos too – we’ll see if time allows!
