Health Advice from Local Men (pt. 2)

June is Men's Health Month and all month long I'll be sharing some insight from local men on their views of health and how they maintain healthy minds and bodies. I interviewed men of different ages but you'll notice there are common healthy habits among them all.

Our 2nd interviewee this month is: Kyle Meyer
Age Range: 26-33
Place of Employment: Midwest Tile/Masterpeace Production

Q1: On a scale from 1-10 (10 being top priority), how would you rate health and wellness as a priority?

A: 8

Q2: If asked to describe complete well-being, what would be your definition?

A: Complete well-being is being physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually and financially comfortable, healthy, happy and growing.

Q3: Where do you go to get reliable health information?

A: Researching and comparing sources such as the internet, books, family doctor, chiropractor, family, friends, personal experience, commonsense and intuition.

Q4: What are some things you do currently to maintain a healthy lifestyle?

A: Drink clean water; Eat organic fruits and vegetables; Relaxation techniques; Use proper body mechanics; Sleep 8 hours a night; Walk/run places.

Q5: If you could give a piece of health advice to other men in your age range, what would it be?

A: Reduce meat consumption and grow a garden.

Q6: What about to your younger self?

A: Limit heavy drinking and partying. You won't look back and remember a lot of the parties, what you will remember is gaining skills and accomplishing goals.

Q7: Any other thoughts on the matter?

A: Being happy is my goal in life so being able to balance different areas of life to stay healthy is important. I want to live life in a way that I can live to be 100 years old but would also like to say I highly enjoyed life if I were to die today.

Thank you to Kyle for sharing some great advice! Stay tuned for more on men's health next Wednesday when we hear from Peter Fox.
