Are you prepared to work with State and Federal Animal Regulatory Agencies and industry stakeholders during a Foreign Animal Disease Outbreak that threatens U.S. livestock production?

University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine will host a USDA sponsored online exercise to bring a broad spectrum of livestock industry stakeholders together to work in collaboration to improve our capability to respond to an outbreak of FMD affecting U.S. livestock.

Participants will meet virtually two to three hours daily to share information and brainstorm about response strategies for an outbreak of FMD in a realistic scenario.

  • Learn the latest information about current FMD response plans
  • Work in small collaborative teams to identify areas for improvement in our local, state, and federal livestock disease response preparedness
  • Participate in the development of updated response plans that may impact your industry
  • Get to know the state, federal, and industry partners that are likely to participate in any disease outbreak response
  • Identify ways in which you can make your business more resilient to an outbreak of livestock disease or other emergencies

Registration

Space is limited. Sign up by September 1. The course will be free due to the generous support of the USDA.

Veterinarians who attend the entire event will be able to earn CE for this event. Participants will receive continuing education verification at the end of the event. No partial CE will be awarded.

This program is aimed at Illinois pork, dairy, beef, sheep, goat and poultry producers; Illinois production animal and mixed animal practice veterinarians; livestock industry professional organizations and stakeholders; allied agricultural industries; and Illinois and neighboring state and federal animal health regulatory agency personnel.
