Discuss new opportunities to fight hunger with a diverse mixture of experts.

Participate in the 2024 Summit on Hunger and Health in Illinois, hosted by Illinois SNAP-Education, and explore strategies to catalyze collaboration among local, public, and regional organizations to address food insecurity and health. 

Pre-Conference: Food Handlers Training will be available from 7:30-9:00 a.m.

Check-in will be held from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. A conference agenda will be available when you arrive.

The cost of registration is $10. Lunch is included. Fee waivers are available. Register by Feb. 28.

Breakout Sessions

The following breakout sessions will be presented:

  • Pantries of the Future.
  • Creating a community of belonging
  • TEFAP Myths 
  • Food as Medicine

**TEFAP is a federal program that helps supplement the diets of low-income Americans by providing them with free emergency food assistance.  

Awards

Awards will be presented in the following categories: Outstanding Food Pantry Manager, Healthy Pantry Initiatives, Outstanding Health Equity Leader, Innovative Food Programming, and Volunteer of the Year. Any organization is eligible for awards, including schools, food pantries, food banks, etc. For detailed descriptions and to nominate a pantry, individual, or organization for an award visit go.illinois.edu/HHSNominateNorth.
