Illinois Extension is excited to offer a 16‑session Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention program, designed to improve strength, flexibility, and balance while reducing the risk of falls. Older adults are more likely to experience falls, which can cause serious injury. Research shows that Tai Chi is one of the most effective approaches for fall prevention, and medical authorities agree it is a safe, suitable exercise for people with arthritis.

This evidence-based program, developed by Dr. Paul Lam and recognized by the CDC, incorporates gentle movements that enhance muscular strength, fitness, and overall well-being.
