Zach DeVillez is a forestry technician with Illinois Extension Forestry at the Dixon Springs Agricultural Center. He specializes in forest health research, where most of his work revolves around the non-native invasive insect emerald ash borer, EAB. This research focuses on identifying the spread of EAB throughout Southern Illinois, as well as assessing ash tree failure risk in high use recreation areas.
Zach received his Bachelors of Forestry from Southern Illinois University Carbondale and has spent two years working in the natural resources field.
