Mark your calendars for Nature Trails Day

walking

Bloomington, IL- The University of Illinois Extension Master Naturalists are thrilled to announce Nature Trails Day will be hosted at COMLARA Park this September, and if you have not participated in this event before, now is the time to check it out!

There are various activities for all ages throughout the day including guided hikes and nature-related activity stations. Wildlife Prairie Park will have a presentation with live animals for everyone to enjoy.  Several local organizations will have booths to share information on their nature-related efforts and ways to learn more.  Additionally, a food truck will be available for your hunger needs, or you can bring your own lunch to enjoy!

Nature Trails Day aims to bring people together outdoors and connect with nature.  The theme of this year is “Conserve, Connect, Commit.”  We hope by being outside, learning through activities, and meeting various organizations that individuals will see the need for conservation efforts, connect with nature, and commit to caring for our earth in their daily lives.

Nature Trails Day will be held at COMLARA Park on September 21 from 10 am to 2 pm.  This is a free event open to everyone, and there is no registration.  This is the second year COMLARA has hosted, and we look forward to seeing many community members out in nature!  COMLARA Park is located at 13001 Recreation Area Dr, Hudson, IL 61748.

Remember to bring sunscreen, bug spray, and water to have a wonderful time on the trails.
