Jennifer McCaffrey serves as Assistant Dean for Health and Community Wellness and Executive Director of the Center for Food Systems, Nutrition Security, and Health Integration. She leads initiatives that advance research and education to strengthen food systems, improve nutrition security, and support community wellbeing in Illinois and beyond.


Throughout her career, McCaffrey has championed collaborative leadership resulting in program innovation, system change, and community-engaged scholarship. With more than 25 years of experience, she has directed statewide and federally funded initiatives and has co-authored more than 75 publications connecting research with practice to improve health outcomes and expand community partnerships.
 

McCaffrey earned a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a Master of Public Health in Nutrition from the University of Minnesota, and a Ph.D. in Public Health from the University of Illinois Chicago. She is also a Registered Dietitian.
