Monserrat Carrillo-Rodriguez, MPH, is our Extension Specialist in Social and Community Health with the Integrated Health Disparities program in the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences at the University of Illinois. The Integrated Health Disparities program includes a team of extension specialists in physical health, mental health, and community health working together to provide leadership and resources in the crusade to address health inequities.

She has experience working with diverse audiences both in Chicago and Champaign focused on disease prevention and health education. Monserrat is a two-time graduate of the University of Illinois, earning a bachelor’s degree in community health in 2020 and a master’s degree in public health in 2021.

Monserrat is passionate about making health a right for all through expanding access to preventive care and resources. As extension specialist in social and community health, she works to reduce the burden of health disparities among vulnerable populations through evidence-based health behavior interventions and health education.
