Healthy couple relationships

Couple laughing together

Within the United States, one-third of married couples are distressed, and almost half of the first marriages and more than half of unmarried cohabiting relationships end in divorce or separation. Additionally, relationship distress has been linked to partners’ and their children’s mental and physical health problems. Maintaining a strong relationship with your spouse or romantic partner can be a challenge. And when you need help, getting trustworthy, effective relationship support can be just as challenging. Relationship education can help you build the life you deserve.

The Strong Couples project is a collaborative effort between the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and University of Illinois Extension designed to provide free, proven online support for relationships. Our online program is here to help those that want to build greater intimacy and connection, communicate more effectively or even protect your marriage from divorce.

The program:

•           Is self-paced

•           Is six online sessions

•           Uses the scientifically proven ePREP platform

•           Includes support from trained program coaches

•           Free to qualifying couples

Quotes from couples that have completed the program:

“This program has been great for us – we’ve used it to work through decisions, conflict, and long-term dreaming about our future. I’m a huge fan.”

“It has opened my eyes greatly and has helped me and my wife reignite the fire we had before, as well as helped us lay a foundation for meaningful communication.”

“Our marriage was on its last leg when we started this program. We have grown tremendously throughout this program, ensuring the other feel valid, safe, and heard. This program helped with that, and we are so grateful.”
