Written by Rhonda Ferree, retired horticulture educator
I am now producing videos on a wide variety of gardening topics and more.
Videos are the latest social media trend, with predictions that 74% of all internet traffic in 2017 will be video.
My plan is to produce short, informational videos covering everything from pruning to herbs to houseplants and much more. My first video shows how mums add color to the fall landscape.
For the most part, I use my backyard to film clips used in the videos. I consider my gardens as a horticultural laboratory where I can do what I teach, and teach what I do. My videos provide quick summaries of a particular topic and what the home gardener can do.
Other videos include how to bring houseplants in for the winter, what is fall color, drying herbs for winter use, fall tool care, and how to store firewood. Plans are in the works to produce much more.
