Explore the conservation of energy, forces, and parabolas by building a catapult and then conducting experiments with it.

 

Join us for a virtual workshop for youth ages 10-14

Date: July 28th

Time: 2:00 -3:30 p.m.

Where: Anywhere you have internet access, the workshop will be held on Zoom.

 

Materials will be provided for free, with a no-contact pickup from our McLean County Extension Office. Please contact Maggie at Maggielr@illinois.edu to inquire about having materials mailed.

Materials needed: 15 popsicle sticks (12 needed, 3 extra), 6 rubber bands (3 needed, 3 extra), Tape, Bottlecap (from milk jug or juice bottle), Marble, Marshmallow, Any other small items to launch (ex: Cotton ball, penny, ping pong ball, etc.), At least 6 plastic cups (can use 6-15 cups), Measuring Device (ex: ruler), Protractor, Markers (to decorate the popsicle sticks!), Piece of paper, Pencil
