You are invited to Petals and Poses: Saturday, July 19th, 2025 from 11 am- 3 pm at the Catherine V. Yost House Museum (298 W. Water Street, Pontiac, IL 61764). Attend both events from 11 am -3 pm, or register for the yoga or garden sensory walk sessions!
Yoga at Yost: 11 am
Join Kathy McLean, a 200-hour certified yoga teacher, for a nourishing outdoor yoga session on the serene back lawn of the Yost House. Surrounded by the gentle flow of the Vermillion River and the peaceful rhythm of nature, we'll move through grounding and heart-opening postures suitable for both beginners and seasoned practitioners. Together, we'll awaken our senses breathe deeply, and cultivate a mindful connection between body, mind, and spirit-all in harmony with the beauty around us. Come as you are and let nature be your guide.

Some nature-inspired poses may include tree pose, cat/cow, half-moon, sun salutations, down dog, and pigeon. Cool down after your yoga with a short self-guided tour of the gardens.
Attendees should bring a yoga mat, water, and wear comfortable clothing. Chairs will be provided for those not wishing to use a mat. Yoga is suitable for all levels of experience.

Following the yoga, a guided sensory walk through the Yost Gardens will be led by Master Gardeners. Step back in time and take in all that the historic Yost House Gardens have to offer. Participants will connect deeper with the garden through this walk that will stimulate your senses with fresh herbal scents, natural sounds, and beautiful blooms!
Yost House Tours: 12- 3 pm
Take a tour of the Historic Yost House! The Yost House will be open during this timeframe for Tours. Stop in to take a look!
Light refreshments will be provided throughout the afternoon. Register for one or both of these enjoyable summer sessions taking place at Yost House!
