What is a prairie? Join the Illinois Grand Prairie Master Naturalists and local science educator, Scott Saffer, on Saturday, July 25th from 9 - 11 am at Fugate Woods in rural Fairbury, IL to learn about what defines a prairie, the history of how prairies came to be, their biological importance, and the differences between native prairies and reconstructions.
The presentation will include a short hike to identify plants and plant seeds for native plants!
Directions: This event will be held at the south end of the preserve and not at the street address listed. To reach the parking area from Fairbury, head east on US 24. Before PTC Alliance, turn left onto N 2300 E Rd, then right onto E 900 N Rd. Turn left at a gate manned by volunteers and follow the grass road to the pavilion.
