University of Illinois Extension and OSF Saint James Partner to Offer “Wits Workout” Brain Health Series

Brain with sparks coming out of it

PONTIAC, Ill. – For the first time, the University of Illinois Extension is partnering with OSF Saint James - John W. Albrecht Medical Center to offer the Wits Workout brain health series to the community. Wits Workout is a peer-reviewed, pilot-tested program developed to promote brain health among older adults through intellectually engaging activities and social interaction. Based on research linking cognitive stimulation and social connection to lifelong brain health, the program provides purposeful opportunities to keep minds active and build community.

Led by Family Life Educator, Sara Attig, the sessions will feature fun, interactive exercises designed to boost memory and enhance cognitive function in a supportive group setting.

Whether you’re looking to sharpen your mind or simply connect with others in a vibrant, engaging environment, Wits Workout is for you. It’s never too early or too late to start taking care of your brain. Join us for this exciting new collaboration and get your brain active!

Sessions will be held from 1:30 to 3 PM monthly on Tuesdays at the OSF Saint James - John W. Albrecht Medical Center at 2500 W Reynolds St. in Pontiac on the following dates:
