Kayla Powers serves as the Agriculture and Natural Resources Program Coordinator for Livingston, McLean, and Woodford Counties. Her main responsibilities include assisting the Agriculture and Natural Resources Department in program logistics, content editing, and marketing. Kayla joined the University of Illinois Extension in 2021 as the Program Coordinator for the Master Gardeners and Master Naturalists of McLean, Livingston, and Woodford Counties. In this role, she established connections with local volunteers and Extension staff throughout the state.
Originally from Madison County, Kayla moved to Eureka to pursue her undergraduate studies at Eureka College. While in college, she pursued a major in Environmental Studies and actively participated in various clubs and internships that fueled her passion for environmental education and sustainability. After obtaining her bachelor’s degree, she continued her education by pursuing a master’s degree. Currently, Kayla is enrolled in Eastern Illinois University's online program to obtain her Professional Science master’s degree in Geographic Information Sciences (PSM in GISci).
