Luke Zwilling is a Watershed Outreach Associate with Illinois Extension's Nutrient Loss Reduction Strategy implementation team, serving two phosphorus reduction priority watersheds — the Embarras and Little Wabash. These watersheds include areas in Champaign, Douglas, Vermilion, Edgar, Coles, Cumberland, Clark, Jasper, Effingham, Crawford, Richland, Lawrence, Clay, Wayne, Edwards, White, Gallatin, and Shelby counties.
Luke grew up on a farm in Jasper County and earned a B.S. in Agriculture and Biological Engineering from University of Illinois. Luke coordinates watershed and planning activities to reduce nutrient losses from priority watersheds, provides expertise on best management practices for nutrient loss, and conducts outreach on agricultural conservation practices outlined in the Illinois NLRS.
