Join us at the Unity Community Garden on Thursday, September 5th, for an insightful tour packed with practical gardening tips and techniques. Learn how to keep your garden productive, drought-tolerant, well-organized, and weed-free.
What You'll Learn:
- Organic weed control tactics
- Pruning and trellising tips
- Best practices for watering
- Using cover crops to rejuvenate soil during fall and winter
- Fresh ginger cultivation
- Three-sisters companion planting
NOTE: there are TWO tour times available - please choose one
- 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM
- 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM
The last 10-15 minutes of each tour will be reserved for a Q&A session with the Unity Garden Staff and Local Food Systems/Small Farms Educator.
Additional Notes:
- Audience: This workshop is ideal for intermediate-level gardeners, homesteaders, and backyard growers.
- Attire: Please wear shoes and pants that can get dirty or wet.
- Arrival: Arrive at least 5 minutes early. Park on either side of the building and walk to the back where the garden is located.
- Registration: The workshop is free, but registration is required.
- Rain Date: Friday, September 6th, same time and place.
