McLean County residents, did you know McLean County Master Gardeners helped thousands of local gardeners with their gardening questions during the 2016 growing season through services offered throughout the county? Let them help you solve your gardening woes by visiting the University of Illinois Extension Mclean County Master Gardeners walk-in Help Desk, Bloomington Farmers Market, and Downs Famers Market booths or the WJBC Radio program.
Master Gardeners are trained by University of Illinois specialists and educators to answer questions from the community. Questions answered range from plant and insect identification, weed identification, tree problems, growing vegetables and fruits, and how to create a beautiful landscape.
Starting late March, the McLean County Master Gardeners walk-in Help Desk is open and ready to answer your questions. The Help Desk is located at the University of Illinois Extension McLean County Office, located at 1615 Commerce Parkway in Bloomington. Help Desk hours are Mondays from 9 a.m. to Noon and Wednesdays from 1 to 4 p.m. The Master Gardeners can also be reached by phone at (309) 663-8306 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you cannot make it to the McLean Master Gardener Help Desk, stop by the Bloomington Farmer's Market Master Gardener booth opening on Saturday, May 6 or the Downs Farmer's Market Master Gardener booth that opens on Wednesday, June 7. Master Gardeners also answer homeowner's questions on a weekly radio program on WJBC airing first Wednesday morning of the month from 9 to 10 a.m and third Wednesday morning of the month from 7 a.m to 9 a.m.
