Continuing education units and fee adjustments for Illinois pesticide certification

text on board says what's new by a coffee cup and plant

As a result of an industry-led initiative, continuing education will soon be introduced as an optional method for the recertification of pesticide applicators and operators.  This new pathway will allow applicators to utilize approved Continuing Education Units (CEUs) in lieu of retaking the core General Standards and Private Applicator exams. It is important to note that individuals seeking to add or maintain specific pesticide categories will still be required to pass the corresponding categorical examinations.  While significant work remains to fully implement this program, the current projection is to make the CEU recertification option available for the 2027/2028 licensing year.

The funding mechanism associated with the continuing education program will go into effect this licensing year.  The table below lists the changes to the licensing fee structure.
