Come learn all about the basics of starting your seed, be it for your native pollinator patch, vegetable garden, or home orchard. At Normal Public Library in the Community Room on Saturday, February 3rd, we’ll have seed-starting pros from Wild Ones and Illinois Extension available to teach you about research-based seed-starting methods for the 2024 growing season. They’ll demonstrate their techniques and show you the tools of the trade. Stick around after the seed starting presentations for the 2024 Bloomington-Normal spring seed swap. We’ll have tables set up with free seeds from the Normal Seed Library for participants to take home, but attendees are encouraged to drop off stewarded native flowers, herbs, vegetables, fruit, nuts, or other seeds to trade, ahead of time, to the Normal Seed Library, in the two weeks before the event – so they can be included in tabled offerings. Participants are also encouraged to bring seeds that they would like to

Donate to the Seed Library, to build it up for future events. Come network with other growers-
enthusiasts, and dream of what’s possible this growing season.
